Product Details

An asbestos register is a legal requirement for many Australian businesses. All workplaces (regardless of size or industry) who manage or control a workplace must have an asbestos register if they operate in a building constructed before 2004. In Queensland the requirement is for buildings constructed before 1990. This includes businesses who own their own premise, and anyone else who owns or manages a premise that is a workplace. You will need have an asbestos register even if there is no asbestos at the workplace.

Asbestos can be found in a variety of products and materials such as wall cladding, roof sheeting, roof tiles, lining under eaves, insulation, vinyl floor tile backing, ceramic tile underlay, wall sheeting, electricity meter boxes, cement water and stormwater pipes, gutters, ridge cappings, fencing materials, brake disc pads, gaskets, paint, and sealants.

This blank template is ready to be populated with information about the identified (and assumed) asbestos at your workplace. It contains all of the key details required by Australian WHS regulations. It has a simple layout and is easily searchable. There is a separate sheet for Victorian businesses, as the asbestos register requirements in Victoria are slightly different to the rest of the country.

The Microsoft Excel file also includes information about how to use the asbestos register, and other parts of the WHS regulations that may apply to your business, such as labelling and signage, asbestos management plans and naturally occuring asbestos.

Acacia Safety Consulting’s WHS forms and documents are fully editable Microsoft Word or Excel files that can be customised to include your own content and branding, including your business name, logo, fonts and colours. Find out how to customise your documents here…
